Mozilla today launched an instant messaging and chat project with the stated goal of supporting a wide variety of chat protocols, including the venerable Internet Relay Chat.
Alan Baretz from Sun says that the Mozilla development model isn't working and probably should be changed. The Java Community model is one of the options.
In a move welcomed by the developer community, Netscape Communications confirmed that it will include the ngLayout engine in the 5.0 version of its Communicator Web-browsing software. [News.com]
